Hey friends - Adam here.
This past weekend I performed in-person & this time as a Traveling DJ. The performance took place @ Mirus Art Gallery in Denver (first time there) with the DJ group I am a part of.. DJDAO. What started as a discord and a cool idea “hey let’s play ETHDenver” manifested into a reality.
We performed from 8PM - 2AM.
Beats were provided by: myself (BARTYDARTY), Big Cat, Tux, SixSix, Gingy & Bordello as well as TechBoiAfrica.
I won’t even lie & try to say that I wasn’t nervous for the performance. We ate at Torchy’s Tacos before, I could hardly even eat and felt myself legit shaking (good food though).
It was a matter of… is this really happening? Did I actually take a flight to Denver to DJ? Will I choke?
Let’s be real, it went wonderfully!
Once I got started I naturally got into the flow, just as what happens when you dedicate a large portion of your time to something. I actually thoroughly enjoyed myself if you cannot tell from this pic above.
I posted more pictures on my Instagram, which I am trying to post things more regularly on. Toss me a follow if you haven’t yet already.
What’s next?
It’s nice to have my 2022 Release Schedule out in the world, as it has reminded me that in less than 6 days I’ll be putting out my next BARTYDARTY mix.
“On Thursday, March 3rd.. my second mix of 2022 will be released.” - Written on January 13th, 2022.
BARTYDARTY VOLUME 09 will be released on Thursday, March 3rd.
I’m stoked to give a hint of some of the new songs I’ve been working on in the mix, as well as sharing some tunes that are sure to knock you into a state of optimism.
Which honestly, my goal for my music is to leave people with a sense of optimism they may not of necessarily had before listening.
Travel?
2022… seems like a great year to give music a shot & I am actively looking to play in other major cities.. as I seek to craft this once faraway dream (sharing my music before live audiences) into a reality.
Vegas? LA? NYC? Chicago? Detroit? AZ?
I am seriously open to wherever, as I would love to see more of the world, while doing the thing I love more than anything… MUSIC.
I plan on using a concerted approach and not actively looking to have a stacked schedule with touring as a musician, as I was saddened to learned about Avicii’s story and how he overtaxed himself early with touring. (and never recovered)
I am serious about turning BARTYDARTY into a legitimate business, as I seek to get really good with the digital side first.
Then doubling down from there, expanding to creating merch, starting a venue.. creating a label, etc…
This is only the beginning and I am so happy you decided to partake in this freelance learning journey.
I cannot recommend enough starting a newsletter & doubling down on your dreams in the process.
Cheers to lifelong learning,
Adam Bartley (@bartadamley)
